Job Description

About the Role

The Financial Systems Manager will play a pivotal role in Plaid's Corporate Finance team, serving as the primary owner and developer of their Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) platform, Pigment. This individual will be responsible for architecting, building, and continuously improving the financial planning infrastructure that powers Plaid's budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and management reporting. The role will act as the connective tissue between Finance, Data, and Technology, translating complex business requirements into scalable, elegant systems solutions.

The Financial Systems Manager will report into the Corporate Finance team and will be a key player in delivering strategic insights to internal and external stakeholders. With a focus on driving financial planning and analysis (FP&A) forward, this role will also lead the design and implementation of Plaid's AI and automation roadmap for FP&A, identifying high-impact opportunities and building scalable workflows that improve forecast accuracy, reporting speed, and overall FP&A team efficiency.

Plaid is dedicated to empowering the transformation of how people interact with their finances, and this role is crucial in supporting that mission. The company powers the tools millions of people rely on to live a healthier financial life, working with thousands of companies and financial institutions across the US, Canada, UK, and Europe.

What You Will Do

  • Own the Pigment platform end-to-end, including model architecture, formula logic, system configuration, integration design, and ongoing administration.
  • Lead the design and delivery of planning solutions across full-year budgeting, rolling forecasts, long-range planning, and headcount planning.
  • Manage financial data integrations between Pigment, NetSuite, and other source systems, ensuring seamless data flow, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Build and maintain reporting frameworks, dashboards, and self-service analytics capabilities that surface key business insights and empower Finance teams to access and analyze data independently.
  • Develop and implement financial planning and analysis (FP&A) processes that support business growth and inform strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes and ensure alignment with company objectives.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of financial models, processes, and systems.
  • Provide training and support to finance team members on the use of Pigment and other financial systems.

What We Are Looking For

  • 8+ years of experience in financial systems, FP&A operations, or business systems roles, with deep hands-on EPM platform expertise.
  • 3+ years of specialization in EPM/CPM platforms, with deep hands-on expertise across model design, formula logic, and system configuration.
  • Strong SQL skills and a solid understanding of data flows, integrations, and governance across finance systems.
  • Experience integrating EPM platforms with ERP and HRIS systems via APIs or integration platforms.
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions and drive projects from concept through adoption independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to make technical concepts accessible to non-technical stakeholders and build trusted cross-functional relationships.
  • Proactive, self-directed mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities and operate with high autonomy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical instincts and attention to detail, with a track record of ensuring data integrity and system accuracy at scale.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AI and automation tools applied to finance workflows.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based financial planning and analysis tools.
  • Certification in financial planning and analysis (FP&A) or a related field.

Benefits and Perks

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Opportunity to work with a leading fintech company and contribute to the development of innovative financial products.
  • Collaborative and dynamic work environment with a team of experienced professionals.
  • Professional development opportunities, including training and education programs.
  • Flexible work arrangements, including remote work options.
  • Access to the latest tools and technologies in financial planning and analysis.

How to Stand Out

  • Develop a strong understanding of EPM platforms, such as Pigment, and their applications in financial planning and analysis.
  • Showcase your ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders through clear, concise language.
  • Highlight any experience with AI and automation tools in finance workflows, and be prepared to discuss potential applications and benefits.
  • Be prepared to walk through your process for integrating EPM platforms with ERP and HRIS systems, and discuss data governance and security considerations.
  • Emphasize your analytical skills and attention to detail, and provide examples of how you have ensured data integrity and system accuracy in previous roles.
  • Research Plaid's products and services, and be ready to discuss how your skills and experience align with the company's mission and goals.
