About the Role

The Forward Deployed Engineer role at Cohere is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of AI, engineering, and customer success. As a member of the Agentic Platform team, you will be responsible for building and shipping features for North, Cohere's AI workspace platform, as well as developing autonomous agents that integrate with sensitive enterprise data. You will work closely with customers to understand their needs and deliver solutions that exceed their expectations.

The Agentic Platform team is a diverse group of engineers, researchers, and designers who are passionate about building innovative AI solutions. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will be an integral part of this team, working collaboratively to drive the development of North and its applications.

What You Will Do

  • Build and ship features for North, Cohere's AI workspace platform
  • Develop autonomous agents that integrate with sensitive enterprise data
  • Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and deliver solutions that exceed their expectations
  • Work across the entire product lifecycle, from conceptualization to production
  • Lead end-to-end deployment of North in private cloud and on-premises environments
  • Plan, configure, test, and roll out North deployments
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for North and its applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, and research

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience with Python and its applications in AI and machine learning
  • Strong coding abilities and experience working across the stack
  • Experience with RAG and agentic applications
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Strong communication and customer-facing skills
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies and on-premises deployments
  • Ability to read and understand technical documentation and debug issues outside of the main code base
  • Experience with autonomous agents and their integration with enterprise data

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Excel and its applications in data analysis
  • Knowledge of machine learning frameworks and libraries
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies, such as AWS or Azure
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems
