About the Role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, Infrastructure Specialist at Cohere, you will be at the forefront of deploying cutting-edge AI solutions for clients across various industries. Your primary focus will be on leading end-to-end deployments of Cohere's North platform in private cloud and on-premises environments, ensuring seamless integration with existing workflows and compliance with data privacy and security standards. You will be working closely with enterprise IT teams to assess infrastructure, security requirements, and data management practices, and designing and implementing deployment strategies tailored to client needs.

The role is part of Cohere's North team, which is revolutionizing the way enterprises utilize AI. As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to work with a range of clients, from finance to healthcare, and help them harness the power of AI to drive business success.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the planning, configuration, testing, and rollout of North deployments in private cloud and on-premises environments
  • Partner with enterprise IT teams to assess infrastructure, security requirements, and data management practices
  • Design and implement deployment strategies tailored to client needs, ensuring compliance with data privacy and security standards
  • Troubleshoot and resolve deployment-related technical issues, providing timely solutions to minimize downtime
  • Experiment at a high velocity and with a high level of quality to engage customers and deliver solutions that exceed their expectations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, sales, and customer success, to ensure successful deployments and customer satisfaction
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for deployments, including architecture diagrams and deployment guides
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in AI, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps practices, and apply this knowledge to improve deployment processes and strategies
  • Work closely with clients to understand their business needs and develop tailored solutions to meet those needs

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience deploying enterprise software in private/hybrid cloud environments
  • Proven experience administering production Kubernetes clusters and expertise with Helm
  • Strong expertise in cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, GCP), networking, and virtualization
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and tools like Git for version control
  • Experience working directly with customers and understanding their business needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with Excel and data analysis
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and execute while priorities and objectives are a moving target

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AI-powered solutions and machine learning
