About the Role

The FPGA Test Engineer position at GE Vernova is a critical role that involves developing, scheduling, and performing engineered tests of new technology solutions to meet customer, design, and regulatory requirements. What You Will Do

  • Develop specifications, testing, inspections, and documentation for GE Hitachi's latest nuclear reactor technology
  • Create, schedule, and perform engineered tests of new technology solutions to meet customer, design, and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate effectively with experts within the team and in adjacent workgroups
  • Develop the strategy for and then conduct both confirmation and validation testing of next-generation reactor systems
  • Identify, document, and lead the resolution of technical risk within each project
  • Provide firm design bases for solutions that meet business objectives, project requirements, and industry standards
  • Prepare and present technical data to co-workers and customers
  • Work closely with technicians to assemble fixtures and equipment, prepare the Test Facility, and conduct unique, often one-of-a-kind, testing
  • Develop manual or automated production test procedures to ensure product reliability and functionality
  • Provide technical support to technicians for various testing activities
  • Travel domestically and internationally to support customer/supplier meetings as required

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university/college, or equivalent qualification or equivalent level of knowledge and experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of testing experience on complex electrical or electro-mechanical systems and structures, including FPGA
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills and the ability to assess problems thoroughly and drive logical conclusions
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong experience with methods and approaches for testing new designs
  • Strong working knowledge of measurement devices and calibration processes
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed
  • Experience in diagnostic troubleshooting of both Analog and Digital Electronics
  • Hands-on experience with measurement instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.
  • Programming experience and strong knowledge of how to code in C, Python, LabView, or LabWindows
