About the Role

The Fraud Model Consulting Lead role at Plaid is a critical position that sits at the intersection of data science, customer relationships, and business strategy. As a key member of the Fraud team, you'll be responsible for driving the adoption of Plaid's fraud products, working closely with customers to help them understand the ROI of Protect and implementing our fraud solutions. This role requires a unique blend of technical acumen, business savvy, and interpersonal skills, as you'll be collaborating with internal stakeholders, data science teams, and customers to deliver results-driven solutions.

What You Will Do

  • Own the retro and POC process end-to-end, collaborating with customers and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality results
  • Partner closely with customers to help them understand the ROI of Protect and make recommendations for implementing our fraud products
  • Drive post-retro follow-through to convert retro results into production usage, ensuring that customers are getting the most out of Plaid's solutions
  • Serve as a feedback loop between customers and product to drive our Protect roadmap, providing valuable insights and recommendations for improvement
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, working to build trust and deliver value through Plaid's fraud products
  • Collaborate with data science teams to understand the output of machine learning models and develop effective strategies for communicating complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders
  • Work with internal stakeholders to identify and prioritize opportunities for growth and expansion, developing strategic plans to drive business development
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, applying that knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in Plaid's fraud products and services
  • Develop and deliver presentations, reports, and other materials to communicate results and recommendations to customers and internal stakeholders
  • Provide training and support to customers, helping them to get the most out of Plaid's fraud products and services

What We Are Looking For

  • 5-10 years of experience in a customer-facing analytical role in fintech, financial services, or a related domain
  • Experience working closely with data science teams, including machine learning engineers and data analysts
  • Strong background in consultative customer engagements, including experience owning deliverables and relationships
  • Comfort interpreting machine learning model output, including precision/recall, score distributions, and other key metrics
  • Ability to communicate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders, including customers and internal stakeholders
  • Strong business acumen, including experience developing and executing business strategies and plans
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, agile environment, with a proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including experience building and maintaining relationships with customers, internal stakeholders, and other key partners
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as computer science, mathematics, or economics

Nice to Have

  • Background in data science or machine learning engineering, particularly in fraud or risk teams
  • Experience in fraud, identity, or risk, either from a fraud prevention vendor, a fraud team at a bank or fintech, or consulting on risk engagements
  • Familiarity with Plaid's products and services, including Protect and other fraud prevention solutions
  • Experience working with large datasets and developing data-driven insights and recommendations
  • Strong programming skills, including experience with languages such as Python, R, or SQL
