About the Role
Mindrift is seeking a skilled Freelance Legal Consultant with expertise in US law to join their team of AI trainers. As a Freelance Legal Consultant, you will play a critical role in testing, evaluating, and improving AI systems for leading tech companies. Your expertise in US law will be essential in ensuring that AI-generated solutions align with accepted standards and regulations.The role involves working on project-based initiatives, which will require you to generate prompts that challenge AI, evaluate AI-generated solutions for correctness, assumptions, and logic, and apply structured scoring criteria to assess multi-step problem-solving. You will be working remotely, and your ability to manage your time effectively and work independently will be essential to your success.

What You Will Do
- Generate prompts that challenge AI systems to ensure they can handle complex legal scenarios
- Evaluate AI-generated solutions for correctness, assumptions, and logic, and provide feedback to improve their performance
- Apply structured scoring criteria to assess multi-step problem-solving and ensure that AI systems are aligned with accepted standards and regulations
- Improve AI reasoning to align with first principles and accepted standards in US law
- Collaborate with other experts to develop and refine AI training datasets
- Stay up-to-date with developments in US law and AI technology to ensure that your expertise remains current and relevant
- Participate in project-based initiatives that require your expertise in US law and AI training
- Provide input on the development of new AI training projects and initiatives
- Work closely with the Mindrift team to identify areas for improvement in AI systems and develop strategies to address them
What We Are Looking For
- Degree in law (Bachelor, J.D., LLM, FLLM) within the US context
- 2+ years of legal practice experience within US jurisdiction
- Strong written English (C1/C2) and excellent communication skills
- Stable internet connection and ability to work remotely
- Experience with AI technology and machine learning (desired but not required)
- Ability to work independently and manage projects remotely
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex legal scenarios
Nice to Have
- Experience with natural language processing and machine learning algorithms
- Familiarity with AI training datasets and data annotation
- Knowledge of data protection and privacy laws in the US
- Certification in AI or machine learning (e.g. Stanford CS229)
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy AI systems
