About the Role
The Freelance Senior AI Product Manager role at nexamind GmbH is a hands-on position that requires turning messy real-world problems into working GenAI solutions. As a key member of the team, you will work directly with users, clients, engineers, and stakeholders to scope problems, shape solutions, and ship AI products in complex, ambiguous environments. Your primary focus will be on owning the full journey from discovery to delivery, ensuring that projects are well-defined, executed, and delivered to the highest standards.Day-to-day, you will collaborate closely with internal teams and clients to understand needs, constraints, and priorities. You will turn vague ideas into clear workflows, prototypes, and delivery plans, and work closely with engineers and AI specialists to unblock execution and make informed decisions. Your ability to define success metrics, manage trade-offs, and keep delivery focused on outcomes will be essential in driving project success.
As a freelance position, you will have the flexibility to work remotely, with the option to work from Berlin or Hamburg. You will be part of a dynamic team of approximately 15 product managers and engineers, with a focus on delivering real-world solutions that create measurable impact.
What You Will Do
- Own GenAI projects from discovery and scoping to delivery and handover
- Work directly with clients and internal teams to understand needs, constraints, and priorities
- Turn vague ideas into clear workflows, prototypes, and delivery plans
- Collaborate closely with engineers and AI specialists to unblock execution and make informed decisions
- Define success metrics, manage trade-offs, and keep delivery focused on outcomes
- Stay close to modern LLM and GenAI patterns to make pragmatic, informed decisions
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members
- Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery
- Continuously evaluate and improve project processes, ensuring best practices are adopted
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in product management, technical delivery, consulting, or a related role
- Experience shipping digital products, ideally with exposure to AI/ML/LLMs
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with clients, users, and engineers
- Comfortable in ambiguous, high-context environments
- Structured, proactive, and able to move from idea to action quickly
- Technically curious, with a solid understanding of how systems work
- Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex problems into manageable components
- Ability to balance speed, quality, and practicality in project delivery
