About the Role
The freelance UX & Brand Designer will be part of a project-based engagement aimed at evolving Happy Koala's web presence, particularly focusing on redesigning landing pages and product pages to make them more visual and less copy-driven. This role matters as it will directly impact the user experience and conversion rates of Happy Koala's DTC ecommerce platform, working closely with the growth team to ensure designs perform as well as they look. The successful candidate will be someone who understands the nuances of direct response but also knows how to elevate it visually, bringing a stronger brand and lifestyle feel to the company's online presence.Happy Koala is a natural food tech company specializing in gut health, digestive aids, and microbiome-focused supplements. As a freelance UX & Brand Designer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the company's brand image and user experience across web and email, contributing to the growth and success of the company. Your input will be invaluable in shaping the visual direction of Happy Koala's online platforms.
What You Will Do
- Redesign landing pages and product pages to enhance visual appeal and reduce text density
- Improve UX and page structure to bring a stronger brand and lifestyle feel without compromising on performance
- Work closely with the growth team to ensure designs are not only visually appealing but also perform well in terms of conversion rates
- Contribute to shifting the visual direction across web and email platforms to align with the company's evolving brand image
- Utilize your understanding of direct response to elevate the visual aspects of Happy Koala's online presence
- Collaborate with the team to implement new design concepts and evaluate their impact on user experience and conversion
- Analyze and provide feedback on the current design elements to identify areas for improvement
- Stay updated with the latest UX design trends and best practices to continuously enhance Happy Koala's online platforms
- Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate new ideas for improving the UX and brand image of the company's web presence
- Assist in creating style guides and design systems to maintain consistency across all platforms
What We Are Looking For
- Strong UX skills with a clear visual and brand sensibility, demonstrated through a portfolio showcasing premium DTC or supplement/wellness work
- Experience with Figma or similar design tools
- Understanding of direct response marketing principles and how to balance performance with brand aesthetics
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a remote team
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey design ideas and rationales
- Previous experience in DTC ecommerce, especially in the wellness or supplement industry, is a strong plus
- Familiarity with web and email design principles to ensure a cohesive brand image across platforms
- Strong problem-solving skills to address design challenges and improve user experience
