About the Role

As a Freelance Video Editor at Forbes Advisor, you will play a crucial role in supporting the company's growing short-form content operation. Your primary focus will be on editing high-volume, performance-oriented creative content for Meta and TikTok, ensuring that each piece is optimized for social-first environments. You will work closely with the Head of Creative Strategy and a team of Creative Strategists to develop and refine content that resonates with audiences.

By creating engaging, short-form content, you will contribute to the company's goal of empowering people to take control of their financial and personal lives. Your work will be instrumental in shaping the visual narrative of Forbes Advisor's social media presence, making this a unique opportunity for a talented video editor to make a meaningful impact.

The role is expected to be up to 4 days per week, although this may flex depending on workflow and fit as processes are established. You will be working remotely, with a preference for UK- or US-based candidates, and your working hours will be aligned with either the UK (9am-5pm) or US (8am-4pm) time zones.

What You Will Do

  • Edit short-form social content for Meta and TikTok, focusing on fast-moving, performance-oriented creative
  • Collaborate with the Head of Creative Strategy and Creative Strategists to develop and refine content
  • Ensure that all edits are platform-native, with strong pacing, hooks, retention, and storytelling instincts
  • Work iteratively, testing and refining creative content to optimize performance
  • Develop and maintain a consistent visual style across all social media platforms
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in short-form video editing
  • Contribute to the development of new content ideas and concepts
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for improving the editing process and workflow
  • Ensure that all content meets Forbes Advisor's high standards for quality and accuracy

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of professional video editing experience
  • Strong experience editing for Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and TikTok
  • Understanding of hooks, retention, platform-native pacing, captions/subtitles, and UGC-style editing
  • Experience with social-first storytelling and creative testing workflows
  • Familiarity with Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Ability to work collaboratively and iteratively
  • Strong creative judgment and attention to detail
  • Experience working with performance marketing or direct-response creative is a plus
  • Understanding of AI-assisted creative workflows and emerging AI creative tools

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AI-assisted creative workflows
  • Familiarity with ElevenLabs, Veo, or other AI video generation tools
  • Experience generating AI video assets
  • Comfort experimenting with emerging AI creative tools and workflows
