## About the Role As a Freelance Video Editor at Forbes Advisor, you will be responsible for creating high-volume short-form social content for Meta, focusing on fast-moving, performance-oriented creative. You will work closely with the Head of Creative Strategy and a team of Creative Strategists to develop platform-native content with strong pacing, hooks, retention, and storytelling instincts. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a collaborative, iterative workflow where creative is regularly tested and refined.
The team at Forbes Advisor is dedicated to helping readers make informed decisions, and this role is essential in supporting that mission. You will be working on a wide range of topics, from consumer credit and debt to health, home improvement, and travel. With a strong focus on social-first storytelling, you will need to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in short-form content creation.
The role is expected to be up to 4 days per week, with flexible working hours and the potential for a permanent in-house position in the future. You will be working remotely, with the option to collaborate with the team in London or the US.
## What You Will Do - Create high-volume short-form social content for Meta, focusing on fast-moving, performance-oriented creative - Work closely with the Head of Creative Strategy and a team of Creative Strategists to develop platform-native content - Edit videos for Meta, TikTok, and other short-form social platforms - Develop strong pacing, hooks, retention, and storytelling instincts for social-first environments - Collaborate with the team to test and refine creative content - Meet output expectations, with flexibility initially while workflows and creative processes are established - Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in short-form content creation - Participate in creative meetings and brainstorming sessions - Provide feedback and suggestions for improving the content creation process
## What We Are Looking For - 5+ years of professional video editing experience - Strong experience editing for Meta, TikTok, and other short-form social platforms - Understanding of hooks and retention, platform-native pacing, captions/subtitles, and UGC-style editing - Experience working with performance marketing or direct-response creative - Strong creative judgment and ability to iterate quickly - Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro - Ability to work collaboratively and respond to feedback - Strong understanding of social-first storytelling and creative testing workflows
## Nice to Have - Experience with AI-assisted creative workflows - Familiarity with ElevenLabs, Veo 3, and other AI video generation tools - Experience generating AI video assets - Comfort experimenting with emerging AI creative tools and workflows
