About the Role

As a frontend Angular developer at Colonial Surety Company, you will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and optimizing high-performance code for the company's digital product platform. You will work closely with a cross-functional team of developers and product experts to deliver exceptional user experiences. Your role will involve applying best practices, separating presentation code from business logic, and implementing build processes and test environments.

What You Will Do

  • Design, maintain, and tune high-performance code for the company's digital product platform
  • Apply best practices and separate presentation code from business logic
  • Implement and support build processes and test environments
  • Provide project and task estimates
  • Determine optimal front-end development direction based on project requirements
  • Turn interface designs into functional themed components
  • Design, develop, and implement shared design components with other designers and developers
  • Collaborate with the development team to ensure seamless integration of frontend and backend components
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the codebase
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (preferred but not required)
  • 5+ years of progressive, hands-on development experience on multiple stacks
  • Commitment to quality design and clean code
  • Familiarity with on-site and off-shore delivery models
  • Experience with full software development life cycle (SDLC) and 3rd party software integration
  • Skilled at interfacing with RESTful APIs and understanding API architecture
  • Demonstrated knowledge of client-side/backend performance analysis and optimization techniques
  • Desire to set and meet aggressive goals and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Stellar organizational, analytic, and communication skills
  • Ability to methodically solve problems across teams
  • Energetic, agile-minded, optimistic, pragmatic, and collegial team-player
  • Experience with a preprocessor (gulp, grunt, and others)
  • Minimum 2+ years of front-end focused web development, including mobile-first development and familiarity with cross-browser compatibility

Nice to Have

  • Experience with headless, decoupled CMS architecture
  • Familiarity with one of the open-source CMS (WP, Drupal, Expression Engine, etc.)
  • Experience with a modern Javascript client-side framework (Angular 9+, React, React native)
  • Excellent English reading comprehension and communication skills
