About the Role
Float is looking for a highly skilled Senior Frontend/Mobile Developer to join its Frontend Platform group. The successful candidate will be responsible for building high-quality user experiences across web and mobile platforms. This role is crucial in maintaining and evolving Float's mobile application and contributing to the company's design system. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across frontend surfaces and have a passion for delivering consistent, high-quality user experiences.The role sits within Float's Frontend Platform group, which focuses on building innovative solutions for businesses. The team is composed of ambitious, collaborative, and mission-driven individuals who share a common goal of helping Canadian companies thrive. As a senior developer, you will have the opportunity to lead foundational initiatives, expand ownership, and take on broader technical responsibility over time.

What You Will Do
- Build and maintain frontend systems using TypeScript and React
- Contribute to and evolve Float's design system, improving parity between design and implementation
- Maintain and enhance the mobile application using React Native, ensuring reliability and release health
- Own mobile build, testing, submission, and post-release monitoring workflows
- Partner closely with Product and Design to deliver consistent, high-quality user experiences
- Enable other engineers through shared components, patterns, and documentation
- Raise frontend and mobile standards through clear ownership and technical judgment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for frontend and mobile applications
- Participate in code reviews and ensure high-quality code standards
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in frontend development with TypeScript and React
- 3+ years of experience in mobile development with React Native
- Strong understanding of design systems and their implementation
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work in a remote environment and contribute to a decentralized team
- Experience with testing frameworks and debugging tools
- Familiarity with cloud-based services and API integration
Nice to Have
- Experience with state management libraries such as Redux or MobX
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools
- Knowledge of web performance optimization techniques
