Job Description

About the Role

The position of a Full Charge Bookkeeper at The Boutique COO is a critical one, requiring a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to manage the full bookkeeping process for multiple clients. This involves a broad range of responsibilities, from managing accounts payable and receivable to reconciling bank and credit card statements, all with the goal of maintaining accurate financial records. The role's significance lies in its impact on the financial health and decision-making of the clients, making the bookkeeper a vital component of their business operations.

As a Full Charge Bookkeeper, you will be working closely with clients and their teams, directly collaborating to collect necessary documentation, resolve discrepancies, and respond to financial questions. This requires not only technical accounting skills but also strong communication skills, as you will need to explain financial concepts clearly to non-financial stakeholders. The ability to work independently and proactively identify areas for improvement or clarification is also essential, given the nature of the work and the clients' reliance on accurate financial data.

What You Will Do

  • Manage the full bookkeeping process for multiple clients, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements to maintain the integrity of financial records.
  • Categorize expenses to provide clear insights into client spending.
  • Generate monthly financial reports to help clients understand their business performance.
  • Collaborate with external CPAs during tax time to ensure all necessary documentation is organized and submitted.
  • Manage payroll processing and ensure compliance with federal and state reporting requirements.
  • Prepare financial statements and deliver insights to help clients understand their business performance.
  • Coordinate with clients and their teams to collect necessary documentation and resolve financial discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with client goals and priorities.

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably with multiple clients or within an agency setting.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, accrual and cash accounting, and small business financial operations.
  • High proficiency with QuickBooks Online; experience with Xero or other accounting platforms is a plus.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple books and deadlines at once.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively identify areas for improvement or clarification.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (preferred).
  • Reliable access to a computer and internet.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and data security best practices.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with other accounting platforms or software.
  • Certification in bookkeeping or accounting, such as QuickBooks Certified User.
  • Experience in managing payroll and compliance with federal and state reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of tax preparation principles and practices.

  • Starting pay of $30/hour, with room to grow based on performance and contribution.
  • Opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients and help them achieve their financial goals.
  • Collaborative and supportive work environment that values diversity and inclusion.
  • Professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and stay updated with industry trends.
  • The flexibility of remote work, allowing you to manage your work-life balance effectively.
  • Access to the latest tools and technologies to facilitate your work and professional growth.
  • Recognition and rewards for outstanding performance and contributions to the team and clients.

How to Stand Out
