About the Role
As a FullStack Engineer at Gorgias, you will be part of a team that is revolutionizing the way customers interact with brands. The role entails designing, building, and scaling the AI-driven platform that powers automated e-commerce support and sales. This is a high-impact position where you will shape the architecture, performance, and observability strategy to ensure systems remain scalable, reliable, and fast. You will collaborate across teams to integrate AI-driven features into the customer support ecosystem, working closely with the Realtime Communication, Messaging, Growth, In-App Analytics, and Streaming Infrastructure teams.The role is based in Belgrade, but Gorgias offers remote work options, providing the flexibility to work from anywhere. As a key member of the engineering team, you will contribute to strategic decision-making on system design, best practices, and long-term scalability. Your expertise will help drive the growth and success of the company, and you will have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and shape the engineering culture at Gorgias.

What You Will Do
- Architect and evolve the AI agent platform, ensuring scalability, resilience, and high availability
- Design and implement monitoring and observability strategies using tools like Datadog or Grafana
- Collaborate across teams to integrate AI-driven features into the customer support ecosystem
- Optimize system performance, resource usage, and ensure fast processing, building cost-effective solutions
- Contribute to strategic decision-making on system design, best practices, and long-term scalability
- Mentor junior engineers and help shape the engineering culture at Gorgias
- Develop and maintain voice and SMS channels
- Work on real-time event fanout to internal applications and third-party integrations
- Ensure the core asynchronous messaging infrastructure is robust and scalable
- Participate in the development of in-product analytics and real-time processing features
What We Are Looking For
- 4+ years of experience building and maintaining scalable web applications
- Deep expertise in system design, microservices, cloud-native, and event-driven architecture
- Strong experience in TypeScript, Node.js, React, and cloud computing platforms
- Hands-on experience with monitoring and logging tools like Datadog, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, etc.
- Proven ownership over large-scale projects, from design to deployment
- Experience working in a cross-functional, product-focused team
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Experience with agile development methodologies
Nice to Have
- Experience with AI and machine learning technologies
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools like Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
- Familiarity with security best practices and compliance regulations
- Experience with testing frameworks and automated testing
