About the Role
The General Adjuster role at Sedgwick is a critical position that requires a high level of expertise in handling complex insurance claims. As a key member of the claims team, the successful candidate will be responsible for investigating and resolving claims in a fair and timely manner. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of claims, from personal and casualty to property damage, and to develop strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.The General Adjuster will be working in a fast-paced environment, where no two days are the same. They will be expected to think critically and make sound judgments, often under pressure. The role requires a strong understanding of insurance policies, laws, and regulations, as well as excellent communication and negotiation skills. The ideal candidate will be a team player who is able to work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to deliver exceptional results.

What You Will Do
- Investigate and resolve complex insurance claims in a fair and timely manner
- Conduct thorough analyses of claims, including reviewing policy documents, interviewing witnesses, and inspecting damaged property
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and external partners
- Negotiate settlements with claimants and their representatives
- Prepare and maintain accurate and detailed records of claims, including reports and correspondence
- Collaborate with colleagues and external partners to deliver exceptional results
- Stay up-to-date with changes in laws, regulations, and industry trends
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge
- Travel to attend meetings, inspections, and other events as required
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients and stakeholders
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- IIA-AIC designation and actively pursuing another professional insurance designation
- Appropriate state adjuster license
- Five years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills
- PC literate, including Microsoft Office products
- Demonstrated commitment to timely reporting and strong customer service skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Ability to meet or exceed performance competencies
Nice to Have
- Experience working in a remote or virtual environment
- Knowledge of insurance industry software and systems
- Certification in a related field, such as claims adjusting or insurance law
- Bilingual or multilingual skills
