About the Role
The Genetic Counseling Assistant role is a critical component of MyOme's Clinical Affairs team, responsible for providing administrative and operational support to ensure the smooth delivery of genetic testing services. As a key member of the team, you will work closely with genetic counselors, clinicians, and other stakeholders to coordinate logistics, manage documentation, and maintain internal databases. What You Will Do
- Assist with tracking genetic testing orders and ensuring timely processing
- Support the organization and management of clinical documentation and provider communications
- Help maintain internal databases, spreadsheets, and records related to genetic testing workflows
- Collaborate with genetic counselors and other team members to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
- Coordinate participant-facing logistics for clinical studies, including aspects of engagement and retention
- Develop and implement processes to improve efficiency and productivity
- Analyze data and provide insights to inform business decisions
- Communicate effectively with external stakeholders, including healthcare providers and patients
- Participate in quality assurance activities to ensure high-quality services
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments in genetics and healthcare
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in a healthcare, biology, genetics, or related field
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Comfortable working with digital tools, databases, and spreadsheets, including Excel
- Interest in genetics, genetic counseling, or healthcare preferred but not required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience working in a clinical or healthcare setting is an asset
- Knowledge of genetic testing and counseling principles is desirable
Nice to Have
- Experience with electronic health records (EHRs) or laboratory information systems (LIS)
- Certification in genetic counseling or a related field
