## About the Role As a Genetic Counselor at Everlywell, you will play a crucial role in providing telehealth genetic counseling consultations to patients. This will involve working closely with patients who have undergone genetic testing, interpreting results, and providing personalized guidance and support. ## What You Will Do - Provide pre- and post-test genetic counseling consultations via telephone or video for a variety of indications, including rare disease, pharmacogenetics, hereditary cancer, cardiogenetics, and reproductive genetics.

  • Generate consult summary reports for the patient’s records, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Coordinate limited test ordering through lab portals, streamlining the process for patients and healthcare providers.
  • Utilize peer-reviewed literature and internal resources to provide individualized patient care, staying current with the latest genetic research and advancements.
  • Counsel patients on whole exome sequencing and/or pharmacogenetics, addressing their concerns and questions in a compassionate and informative manner.
  • Work a minimum of 5 hours of scheduled consults weekly, with flexibility to accommodate patients’ needs, including evenings and weekends.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients, fostering a team-oriented environment.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in genetic counseling, applying this knowledge to improve patient outcomes and contribute to the evolution of the field.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, aiming to enhance the delivery of genetic counseling services and patient satisfaction.
## What We Are Looking For - ABGC certification, demonstrating expertise and commitment to the field of genetic counseling.
  • Active licensure in a minimum of 10 states, with preference for those licensed in more than 20 states, facilitating the provision of care across different regions.
  • Residence in the United States, enabling compliance with local healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Experience counseling patients on genetic testing results, including whole exome sequencing and pharmacogenetics, preferably with a minimum of 1 year of clinical genetic counseling experience.
  • Ability to counsel across a range of indications, test types, and results, displaying versatility and depth of knowledge.
  • Bilingual speakers are strongly desired, reflecting the diverse patient population and the importance of language access in healthcare.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for building trust with patients and collaborating with healthcare teams.
  • Comfort with digital tools and platforms, including telehealth technologies and electronic health records, to efficiently manage patient care and records.
