About the Role
The Geospatial Database Administrator role at Ardent is a remote position that entails designing, implementing, and maintaining geospatial databases to support the company's mission operations. What You Will Do
- Design, implement, operate, and maintain geospatial databases and data storage solutions
- Monitor database performance, capacity, and availability to ensure optimal system functionality
- Configure and manage geodatabases, including schema design, data models, and metadata structures
- Support data integration, ingestion, and transformation across geospatial systems
- Implement database security, access controls, and data protection measures
- Collaborate with system administrators, developers, and analysts to ensure seamless data integration and ingestion
- Develop and maintain data models, data dictionaries, and data governance policies
- Optimize database performance and troubleshoot issues as needed
- Participate in the development of geospatial data standards and best practices
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in geospatial database management
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in geospatial database management and data integration
- Strong understanding of geodatabases, data models, and metadata structures
- Experience with database management systems such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or PostgreSQL
- Knowledge of data security principles and practices, including access controls and data protection measures
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Geography, or a related field
- Experience with geospatial data formats such as shapefiles, GeoJSON, and spatial databases
