About the Role

The Global Chief Compliance Officer role at Zero Hash is a pivotal position that requires a seasoned compliance professional to lead the company's global compliance function. This role is critical in ensuring that Zero Hash maintains the highest standards of regulatory compliance across all its operations, supporting the company's mission to power the next generation of financial services. Day-to-day, the Global Chief Compliance Officer will oversee the development and implementation of compliance policies, manage licensing processes, and maintain excellent relationships with regional regulators.

Given the global nature of Zero Hash's operations, this role involves significant international collaboration, working closely with various teams to ensure that compliance standards are met uniformly across different geographies. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of global regulations, particularly those related to anti-money laundering (AML), sanctions, and financial crimes compliance. The role also involves managing a global team, necessitating strong leadership and communication skills.

The Global Chief Compliance Officer reports directly to the Co-President, indicating the strategic importance of this position within the company's leadership structure. What You Will Do

  • Manage the full Global Compliance function, overseeing all aspects of regulatory compliance.
  • Lead all Zero Hash licensing processes, ensuring timely and successful registrations.
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of global regulations, staying abreast of developments that could impact Zero Hash's operations.
  • Design, implement, and manage customer onboarding and ongoing compliance processes, including AML and sanctions screening.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with regional regulators, facilitating open communication and ensuring that Zero Hash is considered a compliant and trustworthy partner.
  • Manage regulatory filings within the regions where Zero Hash operates.
  • Coordinate regional regulatory examination responses and interactions, ensuring that Zero Hash presents a professional and compliant image.
  • Oversee the development of compliance training programs for employees, ensuring that all staff understand their roles in maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Legal and Risk, to ensure that compliance considerations are integrated into all aspects of Zero Hash's operations.

What We Are Looking For

  • At least 10 years of experience in compliance, with a focus on AML, sanctions, and financial crimes compliance within a financial services company or fintech startup.
  • Experience working in and scaling international expansion of a fintech startup, demonstrating the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments.
  • A proven track record of building and overseeing complex compliance programs in dynamic, growth-oriented settings.
  • Strong legal or law degree preferred, reflecting a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks.
  • Independent, hardworking, and driven, with a history of accomplishing tasks within a delegated environment.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to execute tasks within tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, necessary for effective communication with regulators and colleagues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with regulators and working effectively across regions and business units.
  • Familiarity with Google Suite and Microsoft Suite products.

  • Experience in the crypto or stablecoin space, providing a deeper understanding of the specific regulatory challenges in these areas.
  • Knowledge of emerging trends in fintech compliance, such as the use of AI in AML screening.
