Job Description

About the Role

The Global Security Operations Center Operator plays a vital role in Twilio's Corporate Safety and Security team. As a GSOC Operator, you will be responsible for maintaining situational awareness over internal and external physical events that could impact employee safety or pose a threat to business assets or operations. Your expertise will help inform Twilio's overall security posture, enabling a safe working environment for all employees.

What You Will Do

  • Monitor various physical security asset monitoring and surveillance systems to detect potential unauthorized access or suspicious activity
  • Utilize open-source threat intelligence and internal SaaS tools to maintain situational awareness of global events with potential impact to operations
  • Support access control and visitor management processes
  • Manage security-related calls for service and provide general guidance to employees, vendors, and guests
  • Maintain awareness of business travelers and personnel accessing Twilio facilities
  • Partner with local site security teams to escalate and dispatch resources for incident and alarm response
  • Review travel requests to elevated risk locations and assist travelers through the approval process
  • Cross-reference live itineraries with external incidents
  • Perform the first point of incident intake across various emergencies, including medical emergencies, natural disasters, fire/evacuation, travel disruptions, and security incidents
  • Dispatch security resources, escalate to crisis management teams, send broad communications to Twilio employees, or execute a mass notification to account for employee safety

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Excel and AI-powered security tools
  • Experience in a security operations center or similar role
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Familiarity with access control systems, travel safety applications, and general open source reporting materials

Nice to Have

  • experience with security information and event management (SIEM) systems
  • knowledge of compliance regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)
