About the Role
The Senior Go Developer position at SOFTSWISS is a key role in the company's expansion, focusing on designing and building scalable backend solutions in Go. This involves collaborating closely with the team to shape the architecture of high-load, business-critical systems. The successful candidate will contribute to strategic technical decisions, ensuring code quality through thoughtful reviews and clean, testable implementation. The role requires a deep understanding of system internals, distributed architecture, and data integrity to drive reliability, performance, and long-term maintainability.Day-to-day, the Senior Go Developer will work within a team using the Scrum methodology, participating in planning their own workflow and engaging in architectural, infrastructure, and other strategic decision-making processes. The team context is dynamic, with a focus on collaboration and open communication. The reporting structure is geared towards facilitating technical decisions and ensuring the smooth operation of the system.
What You Will Do
- Design and build scalable backend solutions in Go, focusing on high-load, business-critical systems
- Collaborate closely with the team to shape the architecture of these systems
- Contribute to strategic technical decisions, ensuring code quality and adherence to best practices
- Engage in architectural, infrastructure, and other strategic decision-making processes
- Conduct code reviews for other team members and document your own code
- Participate in planning your own workflow using the Scrum methodology
- Ensure the reliability, performance, and long-term maintainability of the systems
- Work with relational databases, writing and optimizing complex SQL queries
- Utilize Linux and containerization (Docker)
- Write testable code and corresponding unit tests
- Experience working with Kafka and Kubernetes
What We Are Looking For
- 7+ years of professional software development experience
- At least 4 years of recent programming experience with Go as the primary language
- Strong understanding of Go internals: data structures, multithreading, memory management, garbage collection, etc.
- Experience with relational databases, including the ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries
- Solid knowledge of Linux and an understanding of containerization (we use Docker)
- Ability to write testable code and corresponding unit tests
- Experience working with Kafka and Kubernetes
- English - Intermediate Russian - Upper-Intermediate
Nice to Have
- Experience in developing applications in finance or other fields where data integrity is a key requirement
- Understanding the principles of distributed applications and microservice architecture
- Familiarity with one or more modern approaches to back-end application design (e.g., DDD, Clean Architecture, Hexagonal Architecture)
- Experience with PostgreSQL and Clickhouse
