About the Role

The Governance, Risk, & Compliance Program Manager is a critical role at Dropbox, focusing on building and maintaining compliance across the company's product set. This role is part of the Governance, Risk, & Compliance team, which plays a vital part in protecting Dropbox and its users. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and coordinating compliance programs to promote user trust and manage risks to their data.

Day-to-day, this role entails working closely with various teams across the organization, including Engineering and Product, to ensure compliance standards are met. This is a high-visibility role that requires strong communication skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a deep understanding of compliance regulations.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and implement comprehensive compliance programs to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks
  • Design and deliver compliance training programs for employees
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations
  • Develop and maintain compliance metrics and reporting to senior management
  • Work with the product development team to ensure new products and features are designed with compliance in mind
  • Stay up-to-date with changing regulatory landscapes and adjust compliance programs accordingly
  • Manage and coordinate compliance-related projects
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external auditors and compliance consultants

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in a compliance or risk management role, preferably in the tech industry
  • Strong understanding of compliance regulations and laws applicable to the tech industry
  • Experience in designing and implementing compliance programs
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including engineering and product
  • Proficiency in Excel and other data analysis tools
  • Certification in compliance or a related field (e.g., CCEP, CCO)

Nice to Have

  • Experience with GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) software
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
  • Experience in managing compliance in a cloud-based environment
  • Certification in data privacy or information security
