Job Description
About the Role
As a groundsman woman at Bragg Lumber Company Limited, you will be responsible for maintaining the outdoor spaces of the company's premises in Oxford. This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail and a strong understanding of grounds maintenance principles. You will be working on-site, ensuring that all areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained.The role is crucial to the overall aesthetic and safety of the company's premises. You will report to the facilities manager and work closely with other members of the maintenance team to ensure that all aspects of the grounds are well-maintained.
What You Will Do
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the outdoor spaces, including grounds, parking areas, and walkways
- Perform lawn care tasks such as mowing, trimming, and edging
- Ensure that all gardens and planted areas are well-maintained and watered
- Remove litter and debris from the grounds and surrounding areas
- Operate and maintain grounds maintenance equipment, such as lawn mowers and leaf blowers
- Perform minor repairs to outdoor furniture and equipment
- Collaborate with other team members to achieve grounds maintenance goals
- Apply pesticides, fertilizers, and other chemicals as needed
- Monitor and report any issues or concerns regarding the grounds to the facilities manager
- Participate in snow removal and ice management during winter months
What We Are Looking For
- Ability to work on-site and perform physical labor in varying weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of grounds maintenance principles and practices
- Experience with lawn care and gardening tasks
- Ability to operate and maintain grounds maintenance equipment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks
- Basic first aid knowledge and ability to respond to emergencies
