About the Role

The Group Account Manager position at Hitachi is a pivotal role that involves leading strategic account development, fostering executive-level relationships, and unlocking new opportunities across the Hitachi enterprise for a key life sciences customer, Eli Lilly. This role is part of Hitachi's Global Marketing & Sales team, which is driving the company's unified 'One Hitachi' strategy to combine its diverse businesses for integrated digital solutions. As a highly collaborative strategic account manager, the successful candidate will have experience in complex digital solution selling and managing large global accounts in the healthcare industry, ideally in biopharma.

The role entails working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver customer-centric solutions that meet the evolving needs of Eli Lilly. The Group Account Manager will be responsible for driving strategic growth, developing and executing a cross-business account plan, and championing solution selling. This involves coordinating across Hitachi businesses to create value-driven solutions, engaging at the highest level with key stakeholders, and monitoring market trends to inform strategy.

What You Will Do

  • Own the relationship with Eli Lilly, leading all commercial aspects of the partnership, including pricing, negotiations, pipeline development, and growth strategy
  • Develop and execute a cross-business account plan to expand share of wallet and deliver profitable orders
  • Coordinate across Hitachi businesses to create value-driven solutions that meet customer needs
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including C-suite decision makers
  • Monitor market trends, customer requirements, and competitor activity to inform strategy
  • Ensure projects run smoothly, resolve challenges, and maintain exceptional customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver customer-centric solutions
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive account plan, aligning with Eli Lilly's strategic objectives
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, leveraging Hitachi's portfolio of solutions
  • Provide regular updates and insights to internal stakeholders on account performance and progress

What We Are Looking For

  • Extensive knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, with experience working with large, life sciences customer accounts
  • At least 10 years of experience in digital solution sales and account management, with a proven track record of growing large, complex, global accounts
  • Experience in automation or a background in a related field, such as manufacturing technology solutions
  • Ability to navigate global enterprises and work across cultures and time zones
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% (domestic and international)
  • Fluency in English; Japanese proficiency is a plus
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
