About the Role

The Group Director, Brand & Demand Strategy is a key position at Directive, responsible for developing and executing strategic plans that drive business outcomes for clients. This role is critical to the company's success, as it sets the direction for new client engagements and drives pilot-to-retainer conversion rates. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of brand and demand strategy, as well as experience working with programmatic, paid media, and SEO campaigns.

The role is part of the company's core leadership team and will work closely with the CEO, channel strategists, and account teams to develop and execute integrated marketing plans. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of the marketing landscape and the ability to communicate complex ideas simply.

What You Will Do

  • Develop strategic plans for new client engagements, including diagnosing business needs, defining strategy, and sequencing work
  • Align channel teams on a coherent integrated plan that ties directly to the client's commercial outcomes
  • Own the pilot-to-retainer conversion rate and develop strategies to improve it
  • Work directly with subject matter experts across every capability to pressure-test the strategic thesis
  • Set the direction for channel strategists and account teams, and influence through the quality of thinking
  • Collaborate with the CEO and other leaders to develop and execute company-wide initiatives
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and apply that knowledge to drive business outcomes
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients and internal teams
  • Identify opportunities for growth and improvement, and develop plans to address them
  • Develop and execute plans to measure and optimize campaign performance
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop and execute sales strategies

What We Are Looking For

  • 8+ years of experience in a strategic role, preferably in a marketing agency or similar environment
  • Deep understanding of brand and demand strategy, including programmatic, paid media, and SEO
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including sales, account management, and creative
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong understanding of the marketing landscape and industry trends
  • Experience with data analysis and performance metrics
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects

  • Experience working with a range of clients, including B2B and B2C
