Group Product Manager - Financial Engineering

About the Role

As a key member of the Financial Engineering team, you will work closely with the Chief Accounting Officer and other senior leaders to prioritize and manage a portfolio of high-priority initiatives. Your day-to-day will involve managing and mentoring product managers, setting the bar for product craft, stakeholder management, and technical depth across the team.

The Financial Engineering team is central to Coinbase's mission, supporting all trading flows and products, including hundreds of billions of dollars of transactions per year. What You Will Do

• Define and own the product strategy and roadmap for finance transformation, process automation, AI-driven insights, and system improvements.
• Manage and mentor product managers to ensure the delivery of high-quality products that meet the needs of finance stakeholders.
• Lead cross-functional execution of complex, high-impact initiatives, including reconciliation tooling, SOX-compliant change management, and self-serve tools for Accounting and Treasury.
• Act as a subject matter expert on Coinbase's finance operations, identifying opportunities for automation and tooling that can drive significant improvements in efficiency and effectiveness.
• Partner directly with senior leaders in finance, product, and engineering to prioritize and manage a portfolio of high-priority initiatives.
• Define the future-state finance technology landscape and ensure the roadmap is grounded in technical reality.
• Represent the finance user in all tech implementations, design, and execute change management and training programs that drive real adoption across finance teams.
• Conduct competitive and data analyses to guide decision-making and become an expert in financial and crypto products.

What We Are Looking For

• 8+ years of product management experience, including 2+ years managing other product managers.
• Demonstrated ability to responsibly use generative AI tools and copilots in daily workflows.
• Experience with financial products and systems at scale, including a deep understanding of accounting, crypto, and fiat reconciliation, and treasury workflows.
• Proven track record of aligning cross-functional teams to deliver mission-critical infrastructure.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with senior leaders.
• Technical depth and understanding of the finance technology landscape.
• Ability to mentor and manage product managers, setting the bar for product craft and technical depth.

Nice to Have

• Experience working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment, preferably in fintech or a related field.
• Knowledge of crypto and blockchain technology, including its applications and limitations.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems.
• Experience with data analysis and visualization tools, including Excel.
