About the Role

The Growth Lead role at Mechanism Ventures is a high-impact position that requires a unique blend of analytical, entrepreneurial, and leadership skills. As a Growth Lead, you will act as a 'special operator' for growth, deploying into portfolio companies to solve complex challenges and unlock non-linear EV growth. This is a hybrid role that requires you to alternate between acting as a hands-on operator and a systems architect, codifying your learnings into reusable playbooks that make the entire Mechanism OS smarter.

The role entails working closely with portfolio CEOs to deconstruct complex growth problems, identify leverage points, and make high-consequence decisions with intellectual honesty. You will be responsible for designing and executing high-velocity, rigorous experiments across the portfolio to find and scale new growth levers. Your primary output will not be just the result of your work, but the system you leave behind that makes the entire portfolio smarter.

What You Will Do

  • Design, execute, and analyze high-impact growth experiments across portfolio companies
  • Apply advanced quantitative and attribution models to uncover causal drivers, optimize performance, and deliver measurable outcomes
  • Step into leadership roles when needed, bringing entrepreneurial judgment and operational rigor
  • Leverage expertise in unit economics, monetization, retention, and performance marketing to stabilize operations and drive sustainable growth
  • Develop reusable playbooks, testing frameworks, and scalable models that elevate growth across multiple startups
  • Harness AI tools for automation, predictive modeling, creative testing, and performance insights to accelerate portfolio-wide impact
  • Act as a trusted thought partner to portfolio CEOs, helping them deconstruct complex growth problems and make high-consequence decisions
  • Codify every learning from your engagements into reusable frameworks, systems, and playbooks
  • Engineer compounding impact across the portfolio, focusing on repeatable, high-leverage strategies

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven growth leadership experience in startups and high-growth environments with direct P&L ownership
  • Full-stack growth expertise, with fluency across acquisition, lifecycle/CRM, product-led growth, and performance marketing
  • Analytical depth, with mastery of measurement frameworks, statistical testing, and revenue reconciliation
  • 5+ years of operating experience in startups and high-growth environments
  • Strong understanding of business fundamentals, including unit economics and P&L management
  • Experience with AI tools and technologies, with the ability to harness them for automation and predictive modeling
  • Strong entrepreneurial judgment and operational rigor, with the ability to navigate complex growth challenges

  • Experience working with AI-powered tools and technologies
