About the Role
The Handyman role at Cushman & Wakefield is a unique opportunity for a skilled technician to join a leading global real estate services firm. As a handyman, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to maintenance and repairs of buildings and equipment. This role requires a strong foundation in technical skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The handyman will be the primary point of contact for all maintenance-related issues and will work closely with other teams to ensure seamless operations.In today's fast-paced and ever-changing work environment, being able to adapt to new technologies and processes is crucial. As a handyman at Cushman & Wakefield, you will be expected to utilize digital tools and platforms to manage work orders, track inventory, and communicate with stakeholders. The success of our facilities management team depends on the handyman's ability to identify and resolve issues promptly, ensuring that our buildings and equipment are always in good working condition. The handyman will report to the facilities manager and will be an integral part of the maintenance team.
What You Will Do
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, equipment, and systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and prevent downtime
- Manage work orders and track progress using digital platforms
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless operations and minimal disruptions
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to reduce equipment failures
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders and inventory
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date with industry best practices
- Provide exceptional customer service to stakeholders, including tenants and employees
- Assist with special projects and events as needed
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations
- Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of building systems and equipment
What We Are Looking For
- 2+ years of experience in a handyman or maintenance role
- Strong foundation in technical skills, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC
- Experience with digital tools and platforms, including work order management software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education or certification in a related field preferred
- Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations, including OSHA standards
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have
- Experience with facilities management software and systems
- Certification in a trade, such as electrical or plumbing
- Experience working in a commercial or industrial setting
- Familiarity with sustainability and energy-efficient practices
- Bilingual or multilingual skills
