About the Role

The Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat Bahamas is seeking a skilled and versatile handyman to maintain their facilities and deliver transformative wellness experiences to their guests. As a handyman, you will be responsible for handling a variety of general repairs and basic upkeep across the property, ensuring a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for guests and staff. You will be working closely with the retreat management team to identify and prioritize tasks, manage a daily task list, and communicate effectively.

What You Will Do

  • Replace faucets, clear clogged bathtubs and sinks, and repair toilets
  • Perform basic electrical work, including replacing light fixtures and updating outlets and switches
  • Repair doors, cabinets, shelves, and handle light woodwork or hardware replacements
  • Paint and drywall, including patching holes, sanding, and repairing drywall damage
  • Repair or replace damaged wall and floor tiles, regrout, and seal
  • Maintain a daily task list and communicate effectively with retreat management
  • Work independently to prioritize tasks and manage your time effectively
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard, with attention to detail and a focus on quality
  • Collaborate with other team members to deliver exceptional guest experiences
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date with industry best practices

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience as a handyman or similar role with a strong cross-functional skillset
  • Hands-on proficiency with standard hand tools, power tools, and basic plumbing/electrical equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering neat, high-quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently, manage a daily task list, and communicate effectively with retreat management
  • Must be legally authorized to work in The Bahamas (valid citizenship, permanent residency, or work permit)
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and work at heights
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
