About the Role

The day-to-day responsibilities of this position will include a mix of routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms, and more complex repairs, like adjusting heating and cooling systems. You will also be expected to work collaboratively with other teams, including contractors and tradespersons, to ensure that all aspects of the facility are well-maintained.

What You Will Do

• Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove debris and other refuse
• Wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings to maintain a clean and safe environment
• Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems
• Contact tradespersons for major repairs and maintenance
• Perform minor repairs on appliances and equipment
• Conduct safety and security checks to ensure compliance with regulations
• Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed
• Perform routine maintenance jobs, such as painting and drywall repair
• Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens
• Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures
• Work with minimal supervision to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively

What We Are Looking For

• 5 years or more of experience in a maintenance or repair role
• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, industrial environment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Physical stamina to lift, bend, and stand for long periods
• WHMIS Certificate or willingness to obtain
• Basic tool knowledge and ability to operate industrial equipment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically

Nice to Have

• Experience working in a bakery or food production environment
• Knowledge of HVAC systems and plumbing
• Certification in a trade, such as electrical or carpentry
• Experience with safety protocols and emergency procedures
• Basic first aid training
