About the Role
The Handyperson role at Mentor Technical Group is a crucial part of the company's facilities management team. As a handyperson, you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of repair and maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the company's facilities in Guayama. This role is ideal for individuals who are skilled in multiple trades, including plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work, and who are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.The successful candidate will be part of a team that is dedicated to providing top-notch technical support and solutions to the life sciences industry. What You Will Do
- Perform routine checks, repairs, and maintenance of site equipment and the exterior of the building
- Carry out general maintenance tasks, including building and site repairs, fencing, painting, and floor and wall tiling
- Deal with general items of repair and maintenance in the interior and exterior of the building, such as putting up shelves and changing light bulbs
- Perform plumbing, carpentry, and light electrical work as needed
- Carry out small civil work, including ceiling and floor repairs
- Maintain the company's facilities to the highest standards, including cleaning footpaths, rubbish and recycling bins
- Work with other teams to ensure that all maintenance and repair work is carried out in compliance with the company's cGMP regulations and safety requirements
- Provide a wide range of repairs and maintenance services, including facilities services and office fixtures/equipment installation
- Carry out routine checks and maintenance of the company's equipment and facilities to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance
What We Are Looking For
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with an Associate's degree in a technical field preferred
- 3-5 years of experience in facilities and regulated environments is preferred
- The ability to work alone and as part of a team
- A driver's license in Puerto Rico is required
- The ability to perform a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks, including plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
- A strong commitment to safety and quality
Nice to Have
- Experience working in a life sciences or pharmaceutical environment
- Certification in a trade, such as plumbing or electrical work
- Experience with digital tools and systems, such as maintenance management software
