About the Role
The Head of Accountant Partner Program at Gusto is a senior leadership role that oversees the strategic direction, operational architecture, and multi-year investment thesis for the company's Accountant Partner Program. This program is a critical component of Gusto's growth strategy, aiming to build a network of accountant partners who can help small businesses thrive. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the accounting industry, GTM strategy, and partner program management.The role reports directly to the Head of Indirect GTM and operates with significant autonomy, allowing the leader to drive the program's vision and objectives. The team is lean, cross-functional, and moves quickly, requiring strong collaboration and communication skills.
What You Will Do
- Set the Accountant Partner Program strategy and multi-year investment thesis, defining where Gusto should place bets across program components and how capital should be allocated.
- Serve as one of Gusto's external voices in the accountant partnership space, representing the company at industry events and shaping Gusto's public POV on the future of accounting firm partnerships.
- Lead market research and competitive intelligence to maintain a deep understanding of the accounting industry and emerging trends.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive enablement strategy for accountant partners, ensuring they have the tools, training, and support needed to succeed.
- Manage a team of enablement ICs, including a Channel Partner Enablement Manager and a Senior Enablement Manager, Accountants.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, sales, marketing, finance, and operations, to drive program objectives and outcomes.
- Analyze program performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing data-driven decisions to optimize the program's impact.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key accountant partners, understanding their needs and developing tailored solutions to support their growth.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in partner program management, applying this knowledge to continuously improve the program.
What We Are Looking For
- 8+ years of experience in partner program management, GTM strategy, or a related field, with a focus on the accounting industry.
- Proven track record of driving strategic growth and innovation in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong understanding of the accounting industry, including emerging trends and technologies.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Experience with enablement strategies, including training, support, and tools for partners.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and drive data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency in Excel and other productivity tools, with the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment, with a strong ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Familiarity with AI technologies and their application in the accounting industry.
- Certification in partner program management or a related field, such as a CPP or CSPP designation.
