About the Role

The Head of Creative, Business at OpenAI is a pivotal role that defines how the company presents itself to the business world, including companies, developers, and business leaders adopting AI. This role is at the forefront of shaping the brand strategy, creative direction, and creative systems for OpenAI Business, ensuring that complex products, research ideas, customer stories, and market moments are translated into clear, memorable, and impactful work across various channels. The day-to-day responsibilities of this role will involve leading the development of brand and creative visions, building creative systems, and partnering with various teams including Product Marketing, Communications, Events, Sales, and Research to ensure a cohesive narrative across different audiences. Given the fast-paced and innovative nature of OpenAI, this role requires someone who is not only creatively talented but also adept at navigating complex technical information and communicating it in a way that resonates with business and technical stakeholders.

What You Will Do

  • Define and lead the brand and creative vision for OpenAI Business, ensuring it resonates with business and technical audiences.
  • Develop and implement creative systems that make OpenAI’s business story clear, distinct, and memorable.
  • Translate complex AI products, technical capabilities, customer use cases, and market shifts into compelling creative work.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to create connected narratives and experiences across campaigns, launches, events, and digital channels.
  • Set the creative bar high, ensuring excellence in writing, design, storytelling, film, experiential, digital, and presentation work.
  • Lead major creative initiatives from strategy to execution, adapting to changing business priorities and stakeholder input.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team of creatives, including writers, designers, directors, producers, strategists, and agencies.
  • Integrate AI into the creative process, from concepting to production, to enhance innovation and efficiency.
  • Serve as a creative advisor to senior leadership on how OpenAI Business presents itself to various stakeholders.
  • Balance long-term brand building with immediate business needs, focusing on awareness, trust, adoption, engagement, and revenue impact.

What We Are Looking For

  • 15+ years of experience in leading brand, creative, or multidisciplinary marketing teams, with significant senior leadership experience.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing work across brand platforms, campaigns, product storytelling, customer marketing, events, and executive communications.
  • Experience in building brands for complex technology, AI, cloud, developer, infrastructure, or category-shaping companies.
  • Strong creative taste and the ability to simplify technical ideas into clear, useful, and human-centric narratives.
  • Proven track record of building creative teams, systems, and processes that elevate the quality of work at scale.
  • Ability to operate as both a creative leader and a business strategist, understanding the intersection of creativity and business objectives.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with various stakeholders, including senior leadership, product teams, and external partners.
