Job Description

## About the Role The Head of Engineering, DX will play a critical role in driving the growth and development of Atlassian's recently acquired DX platform. As a key member of the leadership team, this individual will oversee the day-to-day engineering execution and ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a multiteam organization and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to inform product roadmaps and technical vision.

The DX platform is designed to help companies quantify and improve developer experience, and as such, the Head of Engineering will need to have a deep understanding of the software development lifecycle and the needs of enterprise customers. With a strong background in software engineering and leadership, the ideal candidate will be able to establish core engineering rituals and partner with product and design teams to drive innovation.

Reporting directly to the DX CEO/Co-Founder, the Head of Engineering will have a unique opportunity to shape the technical direction of the platform and contribute to the company's mission to unleash the potential of every team.

## What You Will Do - Lead and grow a high-performing engineering organization, comprising multiple teams and senior ICs - Own day-to-day engineering execution for the DX platform, including data pipelines, metrics engines, and AI-powered analytics and dashboards - Collaborate with enterprise customers and internal design partners to validate hypotheses and inform product roadmaps - Establish core engineering rituals, such as planning, reviews, and incident management, suited to a fast-moving, high-ambiguity environment - Partner with product and design teams to drive technical vision and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment - Work closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and inform product roadmaps - Develop and execute strategies to drive technical excellence and engineering efficiency - Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement, encouraging experimentation and calculated risk-taking - Represent the engineering team in internal and external forums, communicating technical plans and progress - Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation plans

## What We Are Looking For - 12+ years of experience in software engineering, with 5+ years in senior engineering leadership roles - Proven track record of leading distributed engineering organizations through periods of growth and transformation - Experience in driving technical vision and delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment - Strong background in software engineering, with expertise in areas such as data pipelines, metrics engines, and AI-powered analytics - Excellent communication, executive presence, and stakeholder management skills - Ability to set technical direction, drive execution, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment - Experience in working with enterprise customers and internal design partners to inform product roadmaps - Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and the needs of enterprise customers
