About the Role
The Head of Engineering at Treatwell will lead and grow multiple cross-functional Product Engineering teams within the Marketplace area. This role entails driving marketplace outcomes, setting technical direction, and developing strong leaders and teams. The successful candidate will work closely with Product and Design to build experiences that connect customers and venues at scale.As a key member of the engineering team, the Head of Engineering will be responsible for setting clear directions and enabling teams to operate with strong ownership, autonomy, and pace. This will involve ensuring consistency in engineering practices, keeping decisions close to the work, and actively removing friction. The role will also involve growing future leaders by coaching engineering managers and senior engineers and creating the conditions for teams to deliver outcomes reliably.

What You Will Do
- Drive marketplace outcomes by co-owning and driving outcomes with the Head of Product
- Set clear, outcome-focused goals and support teams in exploring the problem space
- Apply engineering judgment to shape pragmatic solutions and slice thin to make timely decisions
- Shorten feedback loops, improve speed to market, strengthen customer and venue value, and deliver measurable business impact
- Set the technical direction for the Marketplace area together with architects and engineers
- Use guilds as the primary mechanism to shape and scale technical direction and practices
- Raise the bar on reliability, maintainability, performance, and security so teams can move fast with confidence
- Drive consistency across Marketplace teams and alignment with other areas through shared principles, guardrails, and learning
- Deliberately grow engineering managers and senior individual contributors within Marketplace
- Ensure teams are planned and staffed with the right skills to deliver effectively today and as the area's needs evolve
- Own hiring, succession planning, and talent development for the area
- Coach leaders to be effective people leaders, technical decision-makers, and area-level owners who help teams move forward
What We Are Looking For
- Experience in leading and growing multiple cross-functional Product Engineering teams
- Strong technical background and expertise in Adjust and Excel
- Proven track record of driving marketplace outcomes and technical direction
- Excellent leadership and coaching skills
- Ability to set clear directions and enable teams to operate with strong ownership, autonomy, and pace
- Experience in ensuring consistency in engineering practices and keeping decisions close to the work
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize technical excellence
