Job Description

About the Role

The Head of Global and Strategic Intelligence at Mozilla Foundation is a senior individual contributor role that plays a critical part in shaping the company's strategic growth and development. As a key member of the Imagination & Strategic Growth (I&SG) team, you will be responsible for synthesizing geopolitical and technology landscape signals, distilling incoming intelligence into organizational knowledge, and extending Mozilla's surface area in key corridors and contexts. You will report directly to the VP and work closely with senior leadership to inform critical decisions.

The I&SG team is an executive function within Mozilla Foundation that treats imagination as a core institutional capability for technology development. The team shapes how creative intelligence becomes new technology, partnerships, and sustained investment, and stewards the Foundation's creative R&D program, Creative Futures, and the Fellowships program. As the Head of Global and Strategic Intelligence, you will serve as the connective intelligence layer across Mozilla Foundation's work, tracking what is happening in the field, identifying where signals in one workstream should inform decisions in another, and keeping cross-programmatic work coherent and forward-looking.

Mozilla Foundation operates at the intersection of emerging technology governance, global policy, and the institutions and movements shaping what gets built and who benefits. The company is committed to building a better technology future, powered by people, open by design, and fueled by imagination.

What You Will Do

  • Build and stabilize Mozilla Foundation’s field intelligence function, including landscape briefs, stakeholder maps, signal memos, and CRM practices
  • Establish strong briefing and pre-briefing rhythms for the VP, ED, and senior leadership ahead of high-stakes engagements
  • Produce actionable intelligence on shifts across emerging and frontier technology governance landscapes, with particular attention to where those shifts should influence Mozilla Foundation strategy
  • Prepare Mozilla Foundation’s positioning, leadership readiness, and intelligence outcomes for major international convenings and multilateral moments
  • Strengthen the systems and practices that ensure field relationships, intelligence, and strategic context accumulate as institutional knowledge rather than remaining fragmented across teams or engagements
  • Serve as the connective intelligence layer across Mozilla Foundation’s work, tracking what is happening in the field and identifying where signals in one workstream should inform decisions in another
  • Pre-brief the VP, ED, and senior leadership before high-stakes engagements, ensuring Mozilla Foundation enters critical rooms with full situational and contextual awareness
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the technology landscape, including emerging trends and innovations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to inform product development, partnerships, and strategic initiatives

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in a strategic intelligence or related role, with a focus on emerging technologies and global governance
  • Strong expertise in programmatic and Salesforce, with the ability to leverage these tools to drive informed decision-making
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to distill complex information into actionable insights
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams
  • A deep understanding of the technology landscape, including emerging trends and innovations
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
  • A strong commitment to Mozilla's mission and values, with a passion for building a better technology future

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in a non-profit or social impact organization, with a focus on technology and governance
  • Familiarity with CRM practices and landscape briefs
  • Strong network of contacts in the technology and governance spaces
  • Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment

Benefits and Perks

  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • Opportunity to work with a leading non-profit organization in the technology space
  • Collaborative and dynamic work environment, with a focus on innovation and creativity
  • Flexible working hours and remote work options, with the ability to work from anywhere in the world
  • Access to cutting-edge technology and tools, with the ability to leverage the latest innovations to drive informed decision-making
  • Professional development opportunities, with a focus on continuing education and skill-building

How to Stand Out

  • Develop a strong understanding of the technology landscape, including emerging trends and innovations, to inform your application and prepare for interviews
  • Highlight your expertise in programmatic and Salesforce, and provide specific examples of how you have leveraged these tools to drive informed decision-making
  • Be prepared to discuss your experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and how you have adapted to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Research Mozilla's mission and values, and be prepared to discuss how your skills and experience align with the company's goals and objectives
  • Consider reaching out to current or former employees to gain insight into the company culture and work environment
