Job Description

About the Role

The Head of Investor Relations at Plaid will play a critical role in shaping the company's equity story and building long-term relationships with investors. This individual will be responsible for developing a world-class disclosure framework, crafting a durable equity narrative, and serving as the primary voice to current and prospective investors. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of financial communications, investor relations, and the fintech industry.

As a key member of the team, the Head of Investor Relations will work closely with the executive team, finance, legal, marketing, and communications to develop a comprehensive investor relations strategy. This will involve building and managing relationships with private market investors, prospective public market investors, and sell-side analysts. The ideal candidate will have a strong network of contacts in the investor community and a proven track record of success in investor relations.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive investor relations strategy to support Plaid's growth objectives
  • Build and maintain relationships with private market investors, prospective public market investors, and sell-side analysts
  • Create and deliver investor presentations, business overviews, and other investor materials
  • Develop and maintain a private-company-appropriate disclosure posture
  • Support liquidity events for current shareholders, including employees
  • Drive preparation of investor materials, including earnings scripts, decks, and Q&A prep
  • Establish disclosure policies that meet SEC and global regulatory requirements
  • Develop an investor-specific crisis-communications playbook
  • Define Plaid's guidance philosophy and annual vs. quarterly cadence
  • Monitor investor sentiment and track comparable company narratives
  • Translate investor feedback into actionable insights for leadership
  • Implement IR tooling, dashboards, and automation to streamline reporting and sentiment analysis

What We Are Looking For

  • 8+ years of experience in investor relations, financial communications, or a related field
  • Proven track record of success in building and maintaining relationships with investors and analysts
  • Strong understanding of financial communications, investor relations, and the fintech industry
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to craft compelling equity narratives and build strong relationships with investors
  • Experience with IR tooling, dashboards, and automation
  • Strong network of contacts in the investor community
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as finance, communications, or business

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with late-stage private companies or public companies
  • Knowledge of SEC and global regulatory requirements
  • Experience with crisis communications and investor relations during times of crisis
