About the Role

The Health Care Staffing Surveyor role is a critical position within The Joint Commission, responsible for evaluating healthcare staffing services across the United States. As a surveyor, you will play a key role in ensuring that healthcare organizations meet the highest standards of quality and safety. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve conducting thorough evaluations of assigned services and programs, planning and reviewing information, and providing education and consultation to healthcare professionals.

What You Will Do

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of assigned healthcare staffing services and programs
  • Plan, review, and apportion review time to ensure all review requirements are addressed thoroughly
  • Research, collect, organize, and interpret large volumes of information from multiple sources
  • Interview staff and clients to determine the level of compliance with Joint Commission standards
  • Analyze documents, such as performance data, to assess the level of compliance with Joint Commission standards
  • Participate in and/or conduct all required review activities, analyzing all data submitted by the organization
  • Document all requirements for improvement, providing adequate indication of non-compliance
  • Submit review findings in a complete, accurate, and timely manner to the Central Office
  • Interpret and explain Joint Commission standards to healthcare professionals
  • Provide education to staff during reviews regarding non-compliance, opportunities for improvement, and evidence of standards compliance
  • Recommend publications and other resources that clarify standards and/or demonstrate compliance with standards

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field, with a Master's degree preferred
  • At least five years of healthcare experience, including at least two years in a leadership position in healthcare staffing/registry services
  • Knowledge of clinical and allied staffing services required
  • Business management and operational experience in the industry required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the healthcare staffing industry, including trends and staffing arrangements
  • Analytical skills, with the ability to research, collect, organize, interpret, and communicate large volumes of information
  • Interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and clients
  • Organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
