About the Role
The Health Information Management Specialist role is a critical part of Ensemble's revenue cycle management team. As a specialist, you will be responsible for analyzing and managing healthcare records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, organized, and have a strong understanding of healthcare regulations.In this role, you will be working closely with the revenue cycle management team to ensure seamless operations and exceptional customer experiences. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include managing healthcare records, analyzing data, and identifying areas for improvement. You will also be collaborating with other teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

What You Will Do
- Complete analysis and reanalysis of healthcare records accurately and timely
- Manage accounts from Meditech System Waiting for Documentation and Missing Document work queues
- Follow up with ancillary and nursing departments for missing documentation
- Follow up with providers regarding missing documentation or dictation
- Complete unbilled spreadsheet with updates regarding the status of missing documentation
- Review medical record documentation in electronic medical records and create charting deficiencies
- Assign deficiencies to the appropriate provider(s)
- Manage various analysis-specific work queues to ensure timely analysis and chart completion
- Adhere to established company standards and system workflow guidelines
- Identify systematic problems and route to the Manager for facility resolution
- Report issues and trends not complying with facility or corporate policies
What We Are Looking For
- Knowledge of CMS and Joint Commission regulations
- EMR experience
- Healthcare Revenue Cycle experience (Acute care facility HIM experience)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Inquisitive and open to innovation and new processes
- CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire
Nice to Have
- Experience with AI and machine learning in healthcare
- Knowledge of revenue cycle management principles
- Experience with electronic medical records systems
