About the Role
The Healthcare Advisory Financial Services Senior Manager role at WithumSmith+Brown is designed for a seasoned professional who thrives in a client-facing, advisory environment. You will be the driving force behind assessing financial operations, improving performance, and designing future-state finance functions that support sustainable growth in healthcare organizations. As part of the Healthcare Advisory Services practice, you will be working closely with health systems, hospitals, physician groups, and post-acute providers across the country. Your expertise in finance and accounting transformation will be pivotal in helping these organizations navigate the complex healthcare landscape.Your day-to-day activities will involve leading client engagements, mentoring teams, and serving as a trusted advisor to healthcare executives. You will be responsible for assessing current-state finance processes, controls, and systems to identify gaps and improvement opportunities. Your deep understanding of financial models, assumptions, and strategic initiatives will support effective decision-making for your clients.
What You Will Do
- Lead healthcare finance and accounting advisory engagements from assessment through implementation, ensuring high-quality service delivery and client satisfaction.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to healthcare executives, delivering actionable insights to drive performance, profitability, and growth.
- Assess current-state finance processes, controls, and systems to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Design and implement future-state finance functions aligned with leading practices, such as close optimization, standardization, and system integration.
- Address client challenges across financial close, revenue recognition, FP&A, treasury, and finance operations, providing tailored solutions.
- Perform financial and operational analyses, including benchmarking, forecasting, and economic assessments, to inform strategic decisions.
- Evaluate financial models, assumptions, and strategic initiatives to support effective decision-making.
- Deliver high-quality client service by proactively managing issues, timelines, and engagement outcomes.
- Support engagements including financial planning, feasibility studies, due diligence, and strategic assessments.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships that drive repeat business and growth opportunities.
- Lead, mentor, and develop consulting teams through coaching, feedback, and performance management.
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; master’s degree preferred.
- CPA preferred but not required.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership and review responsibilities.
- Healthcare experience required, with a deep understanding of the industry's challenges and opportunities.
- Demonstrated client service experience, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development to stay ahead of changes in accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and healthcare trends.
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Excel, with experience in financial modeling and data analysis.
- Ability to travel for client engagements, as necessary.
