About the Role
The Home Health Billing Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the timely, compliant, and accurate billing and reimbursement processes for VitalCaring. This position is part of a dedicated team that supports the backbone of VitalCaring's operations, directly impacting the quality of care provided to patients. As a key member of the billing team, the Home Health Billing Specialist will work closely with Branch Directors, administrative staff, and other departments to gather necessary information for claims, address payor and billing concerns, and ensure that all billing procedures are compliant with federal, state, and ethical regulations.
What You Will Do
- Follow VitalCaring's billing Standard Operating Procedures and regulatory billing guidelines to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Collaborate with your supervisor and the billing team to address payor and billing concerns, promoting a team-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- Ensure documentation accuracy and submit claims in accordance with Medicare and other payor requirements, maintaining meticulous records.
- Serve as a key liaison to Branch Directors and administrative staff to gather information needed for claims, fostering clear and effective communication.
- Meet individual productivity standards and maintain confidentiality of financial information, adhering to the highest standards of professionalism.
- Manage workflow tasks and documentation in the EMR system, ensuring seamless operations and data integrity.
- Upload payor communication documents and input billing Coordination Notes to support team communication, facilitating transparency and collaboration.
- Participate in learning and development opportunities to continue growing professionally, staying updated on industry developments and best practices.
- Represent VitalCaring with integrity, positivity, and alignment to its mission, embodying the company's values in all interactions.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and ethical billing regulations, ensuring that all actions are guided by a strong ethical framework.

- At least one year of office experience, preferably in healthcare or home health, with a proven track record of handling confidential information with professionalism.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with the ability to manage complex documentation and data with precision.

- Reliable transportation, although the role is remote, indicating a level of independence and self-motivation.
