Job Description

About the Role

The Housekeeper position at Quality Inn & Suites Downtown Charlottetown is a vital part of the hotel's operations team. As a housekeeper, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and organization of guest rooms, common areas, and other designated spaces. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, physical stamina, and excellent communication skills. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, often under tight deadlines, and will need to be able to handle repetitive tasks and heavy loads. The hotel is located in an urban area, and the successful candidate will be comfortable working in a busy and dynamic setting.

The housekeeping team is a close-knit group, and you will be working collaboratively with other staff members to ensure the smooth operation of the hotel. You will be reporting to the Housekeeping Manager, who will provide guidance and support to help you succeed in your role.

What You Will Do

  • Clean and maintain guest rooms, including making beds, changing linens, and restocking amenities
  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including showers, sinks, and toilets
  • Vacuum, dust, and polish furniture and fixtures in guest rooms and common areas
  • Remove trash and recyclables from guest rooms and common areas
  • Restock linens, towels, and amenities in guest rooms
  • Clean and maintain hotel public areas, including the lobby, hallways, and stairwells
  • Assist with laundry and linen duties as needed
  • Report any maintenance or repair issues to the Housekeeping Manager
  • Work collaboratively with other hotel staff to ensure excellent guest service
  • Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the housekeeping department
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager

  • Bondable and able to pass a criminal record check
  • Reference required

  • Previous experience in housekeeping or a related field

  • Certification in first aid or CPR
