About the Role
The Housekeeping Houseperson plays a vital role in maintaining the overall cleanliness and organization of the hotel, working closely with Room Attendants to ensure every area meets the high standards of Montage International. This position requires a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Day-to-day responsibilities will involve supporting the housekeeping team in their duties, ensuring that all areas of the hotel are clean, tidy, and well-maintained.The Housekeeping Houseperson will be an integral part of the housekeeping team, contributing to the smooth operation of hotel services. This role involves a variety of tasks, from removing trash and linens to distributing supplies and maintaining storage areas. Effective communication and teamwork are essential in this position, as the Housekeeping Houseperson will interact with various hotel staff, including managers, supervisors, and other housekeeping personnel.
The successful candidate will be someone who takes pride in their work, is physically fit, and can work well under pressure. They will be flexible, able to adapt to changing priorities, and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
What You Will Do
- Remove trash from work areas to the loading dock/dumpster and remove trash and linen from cleaning carts and housekeeping closets
- Report any linen shortages or other discrepancies to the appropriate manager or supervisor
- Maintain each storage and distribution area, ensuring they are clean and organized
- Distribute linen and supplies to designated areas in the hotel in accordance with established par levels in each area
- Deliver miscellaneous goods and supplies to guest rooms and deliver linen and supplies to guest floors
- Make up and deliver roll-a-way beds and baby cribs
- Maintain cleanliness of guest corridors, including sweeping and washing floors, vacuuming carpet, washing walls, dusting furniture and fixtures, cleaning elevators and tracks
- Collaborate with the housekeeping team to ensure all areas of the hotel are clean and well-maintained
- Perform other duties as required to ensure the smooth operation of housekeeping services
What We Are Looking For
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in housekeeping preferred
- Previous hotel experience preferred
- Ability to stand and exert well-placed mobility for up to 7 hours in length
- Ability to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis
- Ability to bend, squat, and lift up to 75 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability, and visual acuity
- Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communication with guests, supervisors, and other employees
