About the Role
The HPC Engineer will play a critical role in Rescale's mission to transform the future of engineering and scientific discovery. As an expert in the Rescale platform, you will work closely with customers to deliver deep technological solutions and support related to HPC services. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include publishing, managing, and optimizing complex HPC software for demanding customers, as well as developing and implementing processes and best practices associated with HPC services and support.The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in HPC systems and applications, with experience in Linux/Unix and Windows operating system environments. You will be expected to collaborate with diverse stakeholders across IT, engineering, and R&D, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with colleagues and cross-functional teams.

What You Will Do
- Become an expert in the Rescale platform and its application to customer workflows
- Deliver deep technological solutions and support related to Rescale's most powerful features
- Publish, manage, and optimize complex HPC software for demanding customers
- Develop and implement processes and best practices associated with HPC services and support
- Advocate customer needs internally and work collaboratively with sales, product, and engineering teams to achieve customer success goals
- Actively work with the customer support team to ensure customer value realization is improved through every interaction
- Identify opportunities for increased productivity through automation and tools, and implement these solutions
- Design and improve processes to drive customer satisfaction by consistently meeting or exceeding commitments to customers
- Provide technical support to customers, independent software vendors, and strategic partners
- Solve problems related to software running on Rescale, requiring in-depth knowledge of the software and environment
- Maintain software available on Rescale, including installation, benchmarking, and optimization
What We Are Looking For
- 2+ years of experience with HPC systems and applications
- Experience with Linux/Unix and Windows operating system environments
- Experience with scripting languages like Bash and Python
- Interest in cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- General awareness of HPC, schedulers, MPI, containers, Kubernetes, and GPU computing
- Introductory exposure to scientific computing libraries and tools like OpenMP and CUDA
- Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders across IT, engineering, and R&D
- Self-starter with a strong desire to learn and support project success in cross-team environments
- Technical aptitude to learn the product and platform experience and customer journey within the high-performance computing and enterprise PaaS environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with colleagues and cross-functional teams
- BS/BA degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
Nice to Have
- Experience applying AI-assisted workflows as part of the software development lifecycle
- Basic understanding of at least one CAE discipline (CFD, FEA, EDA, ML/AI, Molecular Dynamics, Weather Forecasting, Optics, etc.)
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems like Git
