## About the Role The HR Business Partner role at Coinbase is a critical position that partners with functional leadership teams to develop and implement people and organizational strategies. As an HR Business Partner, you will work closely with leaders to understand their business objectives and develop tailored people solutions to support these goals. This role is ideal for professionals who are passionate about talent management, organizational development, and leadership coaching.
The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the business and be able to analyze complex data to inform people-related decisions. They will also have excellent coaching and counseling skills, with the ability to influence leadership decisions and drive business outcomes through strategic people management.
Coinbase is a remote-first company, but not remote-only. As such, the HR Business Partner will be expected to work closely with cross-functional teams and attend quarterly in-person working sessions, known as 'surges.'
## What You Will Do - Own the full HRBP lifecycle for client groups, including org design, performance management, employee development, and retention - Partner with functional leaders on workforce planning, people strategies, and org design to support business objectives at scale - Lead coaching and counsel for leaders on professional development, career pathing, leveling, change management, and sensitive people situations - Drive data-informed people insights by analyzing trends and translating them into actionable recommendations for leadership - Build and apply HR policies with an eye toward compliance and risk reduction, managing employee relations issues across global teams - Strengthen cross-functional partnerships across People Team COEs to ensure cohesive delivery of people programs - Develop and execute people programs, such as performance cycles, talent reviews, and org redesigns, with measurable business outcomes - Utilize generative AI responsibly to drive business-ready outputs and improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality - Handle confidential information with high integrity and discretion, maintaining confidentiality across all levels of the organization
## What We Are Looking For - 8+ years of experience in Talent Management, Organizational Effectiveness, Recruiting Leadership, Talent Strategy & Operations, Consulting, Chief of Staff, or HR - Proven track record navigating complex stakeholder situations with sound judgment, including performance issues, restructures, and sensitive employee matters - Experience using people data to build recommendations and influence leadership decisions - Track record of designing and executing people programs with measurable business outcomes - High integrity and discretion when handling confidential information - Ability to utilize generative AI responsibly and maintain human oversight to drive business-ready outputs - Strong business acumen and understanding of the business landscape - Excellent coaching, counseling, and influencing skills
## Nice to Have - Experience working in a remote-first environment - Knowledge of the crypto or fintech industry - Certification in HR, OD, or a related field - Experience with HR systems and tools, such as Workday or BambooHR
