About the Role

The HR Business Partner will play a critical role in the People, Capability and Change Directorate, providing strategic HR advice to senior leaders and supporting the delivery of people priorities. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, collaborating with colleagues across the directorate to drive business outcomes. The successful candidate will be a trusted advisor, influencing senior stakeholders and providing expert guidance on HR strategies and people priorities.

As a key member of the HRBP team, the HR Business Partner will work closely with colleagues to support the development of a high-performing workforce, driving capability building and supporting employees to perform at their best. What You Will Do

  • Build and manage relationships with senior stakeholders, influencing and negotiating to secure confidence and support for HR initiatives
  • Provide strategic HR advice to senior leaders, diagnosing and advising on people implications and risks
  • Use data and evidence to make decisions and influence, interpreting complex data to create and present evidence-based insight
  • Support the delivery of people priorities, providing business insight into people strategy and initiatives
  • Work closely with colleagues across the directorate to support the delivery of people priorities
  • Develop and implement HR strategies to drive business outcomes, including talent development, change management, and diversity and inclusion initiatives
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to colleagues, supporting the development of a high-performing workforce
  • Lead the delivery of people-focused transformational change management programs, managing cultural change and supporting employees through transition
  • Apply employment law and employee relations principles to support the resolution of people-related issues
  • Collaborate with other corporate teams, especially Finance, to support the delivery of business objectives

  • Strong background in HR, with experience in a similar role
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to negotiate and secure confidence with senior stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and present evidence-based insight
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills, with the ability to support the development of colleagues
  • Experience of leading transformational change management programs, with the ability to manage cultural change and support employees through transition
  • Knowledge of employment law and employee relations principles, with the ability to apply these to support the resolution of people-related issues
  • Strong collaborative and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues across the directorate

  • Experience of working in a government or public sector organization
  • Knowledge of HR systems and processes, with the ability to use data and evidence to drive HR decisions

  • Experience of working in a matrix management structure, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across the directorate
