About the Role
The HR Lead position at Wowza is a critical component of the company's operational framework, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day HR functions for a team of approximately 90-100 employees. This role is pivotal in creating and maintaining a consistent employee experience, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and implementing performance and engagement systems that support the company's growth objectives. As a key member of the team, the HR Lead will work closely with leadership to drive HR initiatives, provide strategic guidance, and foster a culture that values employee well-being and success.Given the remote and global nature of the company, the successful candidate will need to be highly adaptable, able to navigate diverse cultural contexts, and possess excellent communication skills to effectively engage with employees across different time zones and regions.
What You Will Do
- Develop and implement comprehensive HR strategies aligned with the company's overall mission and objectives.
- Manage the administration of benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Design and implement scalable performance management systems to support employee growth and development.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion practices throughout the organization.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all HR-related matters, providing guidance and support to employees and leadership alike.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to set and implement OKRs, utilizing tools like Rippling to streamline HR operations.
- Ensure all HR practices and policies are compliant with legal requirements and best practices, mitigating risks and protecting the company's interests.
- Analyze HR metrics and provide data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions and improve HR functions.
- Develop and maintain the company's employee handbook and other HR-related documents, ensuring they are up-to-date and reflective of current policies and practices.
What We Are Looking For
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in HR, preferably in a leadership role or as an HR generalist in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Proven track record of building and implementing successful HR strategies and programs that drive employee engagement and retention.
- Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and laws, including employment law, benefits administration, and performance management.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience with HRIS systems, preferably Rippling, and proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
