About the Role

The HRIS Engineer role at Stripe is a critical position that requires a deep understanding of Workday ecosystems, compensation tools, and HRIS systems. As a technical anchor for the People Systems Team, you will be responsible for architecting the future of Stripe's People data, ensuring a seamless user experience and data flow. The team sits at the intersection of technology and human experience, partnering with various stakeholders to build a world-class employee experience.

The role involves working closely with the Compensation team, navigating high-stakes environments, and translating urgent business needs into scalable Workday solutions. You will also act as a bridge to the broader tech stack, supporting and optimizing HRIS tools built on top of Workday. What You Will Do

  • Architect and execute technical configurations for annual cycles, driving technical requirements, implementation, testing, and deployment
  • Serve as the primary technical partner for the Compensation team, navigating high-stakes environments with composure
  • Actively contribute to the supportive team culture by sharing knowledge and assisting peers
  • Manage day-to-day support of Workday HCM and Compensation, ensuring consistent, high-quality operations
  • Leverage Workday Prism to ingest, transform, and report on high-volume data sets, providing leadership with actionable insights
  • Design and maintain professional, pixel-perfect compensation and stock statements using BIRT or Workday docs
  • Work alongside People Solutions to drive product-led strategic projects from discovery to deployment
  • Manage KLTO work with high precision, serving as the Tier 3 expert for HCM, Advanced Comp, and Security
  • Maintain a rigorous posture on SOX compliance and Workday security

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in HRIS, Workday, or a related field
  • Strong technical skills in Workday, including HCM, Compensation, and Prism
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to navigate complex technical environments
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with HRIS tools built on top of Workday, such as compensation and stock statement tools
  • Strong understanding of HR processes and systems, including payroll, benefits, and time-off
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines

Nice to Have

  • Experience with BIRT or Workday docs
  • Knowledge of SOX compliance and Workday security
  • Experience with data orchestration and reporting using Workday Prism
  • Certification in Workday or a related field
