About the Role
The HSE Supervisor role at Voith Group is a critical position that requires a strong field presence, technical competence, and the ability to engage with supervisors, contractors, and project teams to drive safe and environmentally responsible operations. As a key member of the HSE team, you will be responsible for the field-level execution, monitoring, and enforcement of HSE programs across construction and commissioning activities. This role supports the HSE Manager in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, client standards, and Voith Hydro's HSE Management System, while actively promoting a strong safety culture across project sites.The role entails working on complex construction and commissioning projects, supporting critical infrastructure and renewable energy initiatives. You will be directly involved in dynamic project-based work environments, partnering with project managers, field leaders, and clients to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality execution of field operations. As an HSE Supervisor, you will be working in a fast-paced environment, supporting multiple projects simultaneously. You will be required to travel to project sites, conduct routine field inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure safe work practices. You will also be responsible for providing on-site HSE support during client audits, regulatory inspections, and critical project activities.
What You Will Do
- Support implementation of site-specific HSE plans, including Site Safety Management Plans (SSMPs), Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), Emergency Response Plans, and Environmental Protection Plans
- Conduct routine field inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure safe work practices
- Provide on-site HSE support during client audits, regulatory inspections, and critical project activities
- Support high-risk operations, including hazardous material and waste management, lifting and rigging, electrical work and commissioning, confined space entry, and lockout/tagout (LOTO)
- Ensure consistent application of HSE requirements across all phases of project execution, including pre-mobilization and planning, mobilization, construction/commissioning, and demobilization
- Support implementation of environmental controls at project sites, including spill prevention and response, waste management and handling, and protection of surrounding environment during construction
- Participate in incident investigations, including data collection and fact-finding, root cause analysis, and development of corrective and preventive actions
- Maintain accurate records and reporting of incidents and observations
- Deliver and support HSE campaigns, site orientations, toolbox talks and safety meetings, and task-specific training for employees and contractors
- Promote key HSE metrics and performance indicators to project teams and stakeholders
What We Are Looking For
- Strong knowledge of HSE principles, practices, and regulations
- Experience in construction and commissioning projects, with a focus on HSE management
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple projects and priorities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with supervisors, contractors, and project teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate HSE risks
- Experience with HSE management systems, including site-specific HSE plans and environmental protection plans
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements, including OSHA and EPA regulations
- Ability to travel to project sites, with a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Strong digital skills, with experience using HSE management software and tools
