About the Role

NSF, a leader in public health standards, is seeking an experienced Independent Contractor to join their team as an SMETA Auditor. This critical role will be responsible for conducting audits, ensuring compliance with international standards, and providing expert consulting services to clients. The successful candidate will be based on the West Coast and will work remotely, utilizing their digital skills to collaborate with the global team.

What You Will Do

  • Conduct SMETA audits to ensure compliance with international standards and ethical sourcing practices
  • Provide expert consulting services to clients, guiding them through the auditing and certification process
  • Collaborate remotely with the global NSF team, utilizing digital tools to share information and best practices
  • Stay abreast of developments in public health standards and auditing methodologies, continuously updating skills and knowledge
  • Prepare comprehensive reports detailing audit findings and recommendations for clients
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional customer service and support
  • Identify areas for improvement in auditing processes and contribute to the development of new methodologies and standards
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance expertise and stay current with industry trends
  • Work closely with the NSF team to identify business development opportunities and contribute to the growth of the organization

What We Are Looking For

  • APSCA certification as an SMETA Auditor
  • Proven experience in auditing and certification, with a strong focus on ethical sourcing and social responsibility
  • Excellent consulting and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of international standards and auditing methodologies
  • Experience working in a remote environment, with proficiency in digital collaboration tools
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a global team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a focus on quality
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as environmental science, public health, or business administration
  • Fluency in English, with additional languages an asset

  • Experience working with brands and businesses in the consumer goods or retail sectors
